At Los Angeles Shutter Company we control the entire manufacturing process from the saw mill to your window and we invite you to visit the factory to see for yourself. Tours are available by appointment with your sales consultant.

Our Woods: For interior and plantation shutters, our wood of choice is Basswood. Basswood is the nickname of wood from the American Linden Tree. The most stable Basswood comes from Wisconsin and Michigan where the winters are hardy. Our wood comes in from the sawmills in the Upper Midwest by rail.

For exterior shutters we prefer Incense cedar. This is the same cedar used for cedar shakes and fences. It lives outside very well. This lumber comes from the Siskiyou Forrest in Northern California.

The lumber is sorted and machined in our factory in Van Nuys where we produce our own stiles, louvers, rails and all the other parts needed for your shutter. All milling, cutting, assembly and finishing is done in Van Nuys. It is truly Made In America.

We utilize both state of the art CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machinery and well as old world hand craftsmanship.

Please visit us prior to making you purchase decision. You'll be glad you did and you will leave knowing your shutters will be built using the best materials available by skilled craftsman.
